Ivan Roberts has been pioneering Workplace Drug Testing in the UK for almost twenty years. He is MBA educated and holds a B.Sc. (Honors) degree in Biological Sciences. His work has had a direct positive impact in many safety-critical industry sectors over the years including defence and emergency services, utilities, power distribution, construction, air/rail/sea/road transport, retail, finance, and local government authorities.

Ivan is a member of the GLG Healthcare and Biomedical Council, the International Society for the Study of Drug Policy (ISSDP), and the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), for who he also provides CPD training to active members. He has published numerous articles in professional magazines and journals, and appeared on related national radio debates.

His unrivalled experience of defining and authorizing business processes, legally defensible policy development and implementation strategies, demonstrates a proven record of targeted success with small, medium and blue chip organisations.

Ivan provides specialist guidance, advice and support on all matters operational and technical around Workplace Drug Testing including primary and secondary analyses of urine, saliva, sweat and hair strand. He is also widely respected for his strengths in the development of drugs and alcohol training & education materials for public and private sector organisations; developing competency standards and delivering management seminars, Master Classes, and drugs and alcohol guru training.

Dr Smith provides health and safety expertise and has a wide range of experience in a large number of industries.

He is on the working groups of the Better Business Environment Forum (BBEF) (Yorkshire Forward funded) and Bradford Area Occupational Health & Safety Forum (BAOHSF) to provide seminars and workshops for SME’s in the West Yorkshire region on current environmental and health & safety issues.

Andrea Beswick CMIOSH
Andrea has a degree in Environmental Science, with some modules specialising in occupational hygiene and health and safety. Over 8 years of health and safety consultancy experience, particularly specialising in occupational hygiene.

This experience includes a wide range of surveys, investigations and risk assessments in many types of workplaces. Full chartered membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). This is backed up by a NEBOSH certificate in general health and safety and the NVQ Level 4 in Occupational Safety and Health. Other associated skills include qualified and experienced audiometric and spirometric technician and act as an expert witness especially for noise exposure.

Bernard i one of our our senior clinical consultants on laboratory and diagnostic services and provides laboratory confirmations when required for drugs and other substances. He holds a B.Sc.(1st Class Honours) Chemistry, Sheffield University and a Ph.D in (Spectroscopic Identification & Organic Chemistry of Novel Natural Molecules ), Sheffield University, UK. He is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) and

A “Qualified Person”- U.K. Medicines Regulations 1977 & EEC Directive. Bernard helps validate all our laboratory and point-of-care screening.

Gerry Dickinson

Trainer
Gerry is a highly respected senior Consultant with Modern Health Systems. He provides specialist advice to business and organisations on their responsibilities and policy development relating this to his considerable experience in this complex field of work.

Gerry has had a distinguished career in the Police serving as a Detective Chief
Inspector and the Head of the West Yorkshire Police Drugs Squad. He was a career detective who served operationally as a Detective Constable, Sergeant, Inspector and Chief Inspector in Divisional CID, he served on the Regional Crime Squad and on numerous murder and other major investigations.

He lectures on various aspects of criminal law to major companies in the UK and in particular on illegal drugs, their effects and employers responsibilities.

David Howes
Business/Sports Advisor

David leads our sports initiative and business division. He advises Rugby League Football Clubs and other organisations and businesses on the benefits of providing effective drug policies and programmes.

David draws on more than 30 years of top-flight experience in journalism and senior commercial management. His senior previous executive roles include
Deputy Chief Executive and Public Affairs Executive of The Rugby Football League, the governing body of the 13-a-side code; Chief Executive of St. Helens RLFC;
Managing Director of Leeds Rugby Ltd.

With three decades of rugby management at the highest level David is fully conversant with the commercial benefits of having a safe and healthy organisation, which is free from drugs substance misuse. He provides invaluable experience on how to provide effective leadership in tackling these issues.

Paul Johnson QPM
Trainer/Criminal Justice Advisor

Paul was formerly one of the UK’s most senior detectives. He is a former Commander of the North East Regional Crime Squad and has many years’ experience of managing large-scale enquiries into all types of serious crime from murder and armed robbery to high-volume theft and fraud.

He has a wide knowledge of all forms of investigative techniques and has worked closely with government departments and law enforcement agencies in the UK and abroad on the development of strategies to combat organised crime and drug misuse.

He has advised major corporations on crime prevention systems, product contamination, kidnap, extortion and physical security, and has pursued a wide range of investigations into commercial crime in Britain and elsewhere. He has specialist knowledge of drug misuse and how it impacts on individuals and organisations.

Dr Graham Cope
Consultant

Dr Graham Cope, a bio-science Consultant has degrees from London, Manchester and Leeds in biological sciences, pharmacology and a PhD in biochemical toxicology. As an academic at the University of Birmingham he worked on the causes of smoking-related diseases and became an expert in the measurement of nicotine intake. He is known as a leading authority on the subject intake and recently spoke at the International Conference on Tobacco at Helsinki, Finland. The pharmacological effects of nicotine are similar to other abused drugs and Dr Cope has a wide appreciation of drug related illness and
effects.

Faisal Jamil BSc
Accounts Manager
Faisal is our Customer Relations and Accounts Manager. He is a graduate of Bradford University in Forensic Science. Faisal has taken a special interest in smoking cessation and drugs in the workplace and is a leading member of our team.
