Hair Drug Test Procedures
- In general, head hair is estimated to grow at approximately 1.0 cm per month.
- The normal hair sample length is 3 cms covering a 3 months historical period, although longer periods are possible subject to the length of hair available.
- The hair sample will be cut from the posterior vertex region of the head, as close as possible to the scalp, since this is the region of least variation in growth rate.
- Under strict chain of custody procedures the hair sample is sent to an accredited laboratory for analysis.
Hair Drug Test Laboratory
- The hair testing laboratory will examine the sample for traces of a nominated drug/s.
- The hair testing laboratory will then issue a report explaining what has been revealed.
- The Certificate of Analysis will be sent to the client or their representative as quickly as possible.
If so required we can also provide a statement from an expert witness to provide opinion as to the findings in the toxicology report which can be used in any subsequent judicial proceedings.
